In
the year 1973 a group of enthusiastic people who had been stimulated
by the Netherlands, founded
the "Sticting Blindenzorg Aruba". The
term "care" became already rapidly at stalemate feeling and
there for men began a search to a suitable name in Papiamento, which
could also be a shortened term in the community. Men has achieved this
goal with the name “FAVI” (Fundacion Arubano di esnan Visualmente
Incapacita) . Most of the people know now that the name is linked to
people with a visual restriction.
